Our daughter who is a sophmore, has dreamed of a semester abroad for years, Chile, Spain, Equador, and Oaxcaca, Mexico are on her list to research. Spanish is a perceived minor and huge interest. We have safety concerns in regards to the Mexico trip and want up to date info and any advisories. Thanks much! Nice to know others are thinking similar thoughts 'out there'.Ellen

My daughter did study abroad in Ecuador the fall of her junior year (she graduated last May) and knows several kids who did the summer program in Ecuador. It was an amazing experience for her - Galapagos, rainforests, Amazon, riverrafting, whale watching, plus she and several friends ran in a 12 K race in some small town and got a trophy for, as she put it, being white. Turns out they were the first non Ecuadorans to run in the race. She grew up a lot during those months. Her language skills developed to the point that when she graduated she was hired as the Spanish speaking liaison for the company she works for. She highly recommends everyone doing a study abroad program. You can email me if you want more info. She put together quite a blog and it is pretty honest in the picture it paints. On another hand, she had friends studying in Prague, NZ, Sweden, AU and I don't think any of them would have traded the experience.

Greetings! I have a sophomore daughter is considering a post session or international study program next year. Do you and your student have any experiences with those two opportunities. Thank-you Gretchen
