[Parent-Network] Salem Hospital

I am a physician and in my opinion the care that my daughter received at Salem Hospital was excellent. She required an emergency surgery for a serious infection and both the hospital staff and the surgeon provided care in a timely and efficient manner. We are 1500 hundred miles away and we were kept well informed before and after we were able to get to Salem.
Re an x-ray, why not start at the Wellness Center and get the x-ray scheduled by them? An orthopedic surgeon is not necessary just to get an x-ray.

> Senior Parents Take Note: Our son, Andrew, graduated this past May, 2010. Last fall a group of 5 parents got together and planned a graduation party for our students and their friends. We felt that by planning a group gathering for the Saturday night before graduation it would save all of us searching around for a restaurant to have a nice dinner with family. After researching the area for party locations we settled on Alessandros Restaurate on Commercial St. (503) 370-9951. Molly Britain is the Manager. The restaurant was wonderful to work with and presented a lovely party. They provided all the linens and placeware and worked with us on what colors we wanted. The rental fee was very fair ( we split that between the 5 original planners) Early Spring we had our students provide us with an email list of the parents of the friends they would like to celebrate with. We then wrote to the parents and explained the event. We had hors d' oeuvres with a cash bar, buffet
> dinner with several entree choices, champagne toast and cake. (we brought in flowers for centerpieces, and cake). You could bring in your own wine for a corkage fee. The price came to around $35 per person (which included the cake, flowers, party favors for the students and some miscellaneous items). Each family could include the number of guests they would have and then paid for their group. The final count was about 110 people! (the facility could hold 120 - but it would be tight). The students loved being together and having an opportunity for their parents to meet their friends - especially since the families were from all over the country. We started at 6 (I think) and ended around 9 - giving the kids plenty of time to continue to celebrate on their own.

She went to Mission Imaging next to Salem hospital yesterday- security drove her so didn't have to hobble. I just found out she bruised it nicely but no fracture. Bishop, WU, coaches (she's on crew) have been there throughout her various injuries. If you have questions I would suggest you call or have ur child contact Bishop to know protocol.
